A PE dealflow system linking deals, funds, investors, advisors, and Claude
Roosevelt already had Attio, but the workspace reflected an inherited CRM rather than its buyout process. We rebuilt the deal stages, fund relationships, advisor network, formulas, workflows, and reporting path around how the partners actually run a deal.

The starting point
Roosevelt had an Attio license and live email sync, but not an operating system. The workspace contained hundreds of companies and people, more than fifty legacy attributes, and an early deal pipeline that did not match the partners’ buyout process.
This was a refactor, not a clean-sheet setup.
The PE model
The workspace had to represent more than targets:
- platform and add-on deals,
- funds and investor participation,
- sell-side and introducing advisors,
- deal owners and team responsibilities,
- market and intermediary context,
- fundraising status and signed commitments.
The deal stages were rebuilt around the actual transaction path, from Passive through Active, Bid, LOI, SPA signed, Closed, and Dead. Fund participation received its own stage model instead of being squeezed into the deal record.
Relationship architecture
Advisors remained a dedicated object because one deal can carry different advisor roles and one advisor can link to many companies.
The original one-way reference was replaced with a many-to-many relationship:
Advisor ←────────→ Company
│ │
└──── role ─── Deal ─── Fund participation
All 194 advisor relationships were backfilled. Fund and investor links were verified 73 out of 73. The signed-only commitment formula calculated €12.45 million in committed capital.
Building against real platform limits
Three Attio workflow limits changed the implementation:
- There was no task-completed trigger.
- There was no native long wait/delay block.
- Workflow conditions could not query linked open tasks.
Instead of hiding those constraints, the design changed. Long reminders became scheduled workflows with date thresholds. One recurring task loop was removed. Weekly reporting moved to a Claude MCP skill, where the partner could request the report from the live CRM context.
Outcome
Roosevelt finished with one PE operating model instead of a collection of attributes: deals, funds, investors, advisors, markets, and owner logic connected in Attio, with Claude providing the agreed weekly reporting surface.
The implementation also left a limitation log. That matters because a system is more trustworthy when the team knows which behavior is native, which is a workaround, and which was deliberately excluded.
"Deal-by-deal PE, Nacho configured our Attio setup with deals, funds, LPs, sell-side advisors, introducing advisors, markets, etc. Good communication, happy with the outcome. And all connected to Claude."
